L.D.College of Engineering, Ahmedabad was established in 1948 by Sheth Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai. It is a premier engineering college in Gujarat State set with the objectives of imparting higher education in various fields of engineering. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University and administrated by Department of Technical education, Gujarat State. It is also been accredited by NBA. The institute made a modest start with 75 students for undergraduate programs in 1948, post graduate programs in 1954. At present institute offers 14 undergraduate, 17-post graduate and 4 part-time programs.Endeavor for strong linkages with industry, research laboratories and professional bodies to provide quality service.Provides research, training and development opportunity to students, staff, faculty and professionals of the field.The mission of L.D. College of Engineering is to deliver technical programs and services to meet the changing needs of society and industry and thereby contribute to overall techno- economical development of the State in particular and Nation in general and improve quality of life of communities. L.D.College of Engineering will be known for excellence in Engineering education with first choice for all students, society and industry where quality is the way of life.

LDCE Principal Message :-

21 Century is said, a knowledge based world. A knowledgeable person belonging to any corner of the world, irrespective of any caste, creed or religion, poor or rich family mayy achieve highest position or become millionaire. Examples such as Shri Azim Premji & Shri Narayan Murthi of Wipro & Infosys etc. are before us. They are from ordinary families but because of thier, knowledge & innovative ideas & concepts have achieved present highest status. Therefore our deliberations are to light the lamp of knowledge within the individuals. It is also apprehension that in near future, India may be tech innovative hub on the bases of technical & management knowledge based human resources.This college being leading & poineer technical institute of the state, has to play an important role in this regard. Govt. of India has selected this college as lead institute under TEQIP and world bank grant of Rs. 30 crores is sanctioned for laboratory modernization & development, updation of programmes through teaching & learning resources, digital library. Faculty is taking training on latest world class software & LRs.At present, institute is running 14 undergraduate programmes out of which Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Chemical, Computer, Environmental, Information Technology, Instrumentation & Control, Plastic Technology, Rubber Technology, Textile Technology are accredited by AICTE - NBA, New Delhi.

About LDCE M.E/M.Tech Course :-

Master of Engineering or Master of Technology or Master of Science in Technology or Master of Engineering degree is a postgraduate program in engineering or technology field.ME/MTech degree program exposes students to a wide range of courses, combined with specialized research which culminates in a thesis. Such a combination gives students the breadth and depth necessary for pursuing careers in academics as well as industry.The residence requirements for ME/MTech program is four semesters. However, it is possible to get permission to spend one semester elsewhere. If someone wants to carry out the thesis work in a company, or at some other educational institution, it is allowed by the Institute.The scope of the course varies from material research to machinery development, Nano Technology, Smart materials, Aerospace Technology, Missiles technology, CAD/CAM, FMS, CIM, Automation and such other interrelated developments.
