Vishwakarma Institute of Technology - [VIT], Pune Adm. Guidance 2016

Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune, was established in the year 1983, financed and run by the Bansilal Ramanath Aggarwal Charitable Trust, Pune. It is a highly commendable private institute, occupies a place of pride amongst the premier technical institutes of the western region of India.

• The Institute is one of the leading autonomous Institute affiliated to the University of Pune.
• According to Indian mythology, 'Vishwakarma' was a divine architect-engineer. It is believed that He fashioned this world with his rare engineering skill.
• The Institute campus boasts of lush green lawns with a feel of ancient Gurukuls far from the madding crowd. It has got 17.625 acres of land, out of which 7 acres are utilized for academic building area and available built up area for the entire institution is 29,039 sq. mts.
• The Institute is running 9 under graduate, 8 post-graduate & 6 Ph.D. Programme.
• The Institute worked as “Centre for admission to direct second year after Diploma” for 10 years on behalf of Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai.
• The Institution has got selected under the world bank project TEQIP Phase- I i.e. Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme by Ministry of HRD, New Delhi.
• The Institution awarded ISO 9001-2008 certified by BSI, India.
• The Institute has been granted autonomous status since academic year 2008-09.
• The Institute was accredited ('A' Grade) by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi from July 2013 for the next five years.

• Heat transfer workshop for two weeks on 29^th November to 10^th December 2011
• Computational Fluid Dynamics Workshop for two weeks held on 18^th to 19^th Feb 2012
• Introduction to Research methodologies two weeks workshop held on 25^th June to 4^th July 2012
• International Ergonomics Conference (HWWE) held on 22^nd-24^th Dec 2008 at VIT, Pune
• Analog Electronics Conference held on 4^th-14^th June 2013 conducted by IIT Kharagpur in VIT

Facilities:
Internet lab:  Internet facility is available for students and staff members both in the campus with Wi-Fi facility. 
Auditorium: Institute has fully furnished AC auditorium with a seating capacity of 700. Events like Student meetings, seminar workshops, staff meetings, international conferences are regularly held in this auditorium.
Library: The Institute has Central Library which consisted of Reference Section, Reading hall, Journal Section and Stack room. The library has unique collection of Encyclopedia, Textbooks, Journals, Handbooks, Video Cassettes, CD ‘S, B.I.Standards, Video courses etc.
